Dec 2006 Blue Island Pirates Dive trip to the Bahamas

Six members of the Blue Island Pirates headed out to Eleuthera Island in the Bahamas. Gene Michael and Mike were carrying out their first open water dives and are now fully fledged Open Water Divers. Congratulations. Richard was the group host and Charles was the chef extraordinaire for the weekend. Aitch was along for the ride coz he had to sign off the dives!!

On the last day the intrepid trio carried out the deep dive for their Advanced Open Water certification on the wall hanging above the 6,000ft drop off on a sheer cliff face. (Even Aitch was impressed)

This trip was no ordinary certification trip, these guys know how to arrange a dive trip in style! The group flew to the Bahamas in Richards twin engine aircraft (this made Aitch a little nervous, when you consider our latest two dive sites in St Thomas DC3 and Conair)

It's a tough job but .............
We stared into the abyss
8000ft ice on the wings, nothing on the clock but the makers name

We stayed at a remote location on the end of Eleuthera and had the use of an excellent 23ft Key West diving boat. the weather was a little breezy but there were plenty of sheltered spots for our crew to dive on.

It was a great trip and a fantastic way to start a diving career. well done lads!!!
