The event was organized by three local dive stores and John Coon the Regional Manger for PADI in South Carolina. Participating stores were Columbia Scuba (Columbia) The Scuba Shop (Spartanburg) and Bermuda Triangle (Asheville)

The event was a great success and was enjoyed by over 50 divers from all over the states of South and North Carolina from Atlanta Asheville, Myrtle Beach, Sumter, Columbia and Hendersonville . Lucy Kreiling of Columbia Scuba said "We were thrilled with the turnout, it was a pleasure to see divers from different towns all over the Carolinas having fun meeting new buddies and sharing the diving experience" all those taking part agreed that the event showcased what diving was all about.

On the 17th of June Blue Island Divers participated in the Scuba Rodeo, held at Jocassee State park in South Carolina.

Doubloons for prizes
A rescue relay event was held that featured the skills taught in the Rescue Diver course, the winners of which received prizes from the impressive stash that included, a dive computer BCD, fins, backpacks and many more prizes too numerous to mention here. After the rescue event, free food was provided for all participants many of whom were ready for a rest after the exertions of the rescue competition.

A treasure hunt was organized that involved all registered divers scouring the bottom of Lake Jocassee for numbered doubloons that were drawn from a Cylinder boot for prizes. The Grand prize offered by Blue Island Divers was a dive vacation in St Thomas, won by Candy

Candy (left) is planning on bringing a "Posse" of gals to St Thomas so Look out Lads!!
